Tree Drawing installation, inspired by artist Tim Knowles
‘Tree Drawing’ Installation project
Inspired by the work of the artist Tim Knowles, Charlotte Cooper will construct an installation at Hogarth’s House that makes the mulberry tree an artist for the duration of the Art History Festival. She will attach artists’ sketching pens to the mulberry tree’s branches on Tuesday 16th September and then place sheets of paper in such a way that the trees’ natural motions—as well as its moments of stillness—are recorded. As well as the marks created by the movement of the tree moving the pens over the paper, Charlotte will document the process through her own art.
The staff of Hogarth’s House will replace the paper on Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th, Friday 19th and Saturday 20th September, when the installation will be concluded.
