Remember Nature: Art, Ecology, and Collective Action
Remember Nature: Art, Ecology, and Collective Action
Join us for an inspiring moment of reflection and dialogue as part of Remember Nature, the visionary art initiative originally conceived by celebrated artist and activist Gustav Metzger and now reimagined for 2025. Co-curator Jo Joelson opens the event with an introduction to the project’s legacy and its urgent relevance today. Jo will introduce the panel which features three of the acclaimed lead artists commissioned for RN25, whose practices engage deeply with environmental and social themes:
- Paul Harfleet, founder of The Pansy Project, explores the intersection of urban space, queer identity, and botanical intervention through his commission for Homotopia In Liverpool.
- Uta Kogelsberger’s multimedia work confronts ecological fragility and political urgency through her exhibition at Hatton Gallery Newcastle-upon-tyne.
- Yu-Chen Wang, discusses her collaborative approach to storytelling and environmental memory as part of her commission for Castlefield Gallery’, Manchester.
Together, these voices offer a powerful meditation on how art can galvanize public consciousness and inspire action in the face of ecological crisis.
