Join Nick Rogers, curator of the forthcoming Picturing Place exhibition at Tullie, as he explores this question through the work of three of Carlisle’s most celebrated artists: Thomas Bushby (1861-1918), Sam Bough (1822-1878) and William Blacklock (1816-1858). As well as giving a fascinating insight into their lives, careers and landscapes, the talk will highlight these artists’ incredible draughtsmanship through little-seen sketches and preparatory drawings that rarely see the light of day.
