European Dialogues in Art: Wojtkiewicz & Ensor at the Muzeum Narodowe, Warsaw 

Black Carnival. Ensor/Wojtkiewicz, held at Warsaw’s Muzeum Narodwe earlier this year, confronted two highly original artists – James Ensor and Witold Wojtkiewicz – from the turn of the twentieth century. In this talk with the curators, we look at their strange and often painful images of masquerades, theatre, the circus, fairy tales, eroticism and death, and explore how these relate to the arts, politics and social issues of the period.
