Drawing Inspiration – Curator-led Tour

Drawing Inspiration brings together thirteen rarely seen drawings from the Burrell Collection. These works have been selected to showcase the wide range of materials and approaches that can be used to create a drawing. Highlights include a delicate pencil portrait by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres and two lively drawings by Édouard Manet. This intimate exhibition has been designed to encourage visitors to closely examine each of the works, trace each gesture of the hand and study every mark on the paper.

Discover more about the materials and techniques used and how they helped to shape the finished work. After the tour, there will be an opportunity to have a go at making your own drawings and sketches, inspired by artworks in the Burrell Collection.
