Join us for a free described tour of the exhibition Out of Chaos: Post-War Scottish Art 1945-2000 for blind and partially sighted visitors.
The post-war era was a period of seismic shifts – political and social, scientific and cultural. Out of Chaos explores how artists in Scotland responded to these changing times. Charting the years between the late 1940s and late 1990s, this survey exhibition showcases evolving approaches to figurative and landscape subjects, the growth of abstraction and pop art, and the development of new media. The display includes key pieces that address themes of landscape and nature by artists including Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Joan Eardley and Ian Hamilton Finlay.
