Book Launch: As I Weave by Aasha John
Join us to celebrate the launch of artist Aasha John’s publication As I Weave, which records a new body of work created during a six-month residency at Autograph, exploring craft as a site of resistance.
Drawing on family archives and histories, John combines weaving and photography to reclaim and reimagine relationships with the past across generations and geographies.
The evening includes a conversation with John and workshop, reflecting her work as both an artist and educator.
As I Weave was developed through Autograph’s three-year Visible Practice Residency, supporting Artist Teachers from Global Majority backgrounds to develop their artistic practice, opening up new approaches to teaching and learning.
Presented with Claire de Rouen Books, the event includes a drinks reception.
