Private View: Touch Point – The Graham Collection Re-presented
Touch Point – The Graham Collection Re-presented, celebrates the gift of John Graham’s art collection to the Harlow Art Trust. The exhibition revisits a 2006 show he curated at the Gibberd Gallery and includes works from two other Trust-held collections: those of Sir Frederick Gibberd and the Foundation of Essex Art. Together, the works reflect the ideals behind the New Towns built in post-war England and explore late 20th-century English art shaped by ideas of place, landscape, and Englishness. These themes take on renewed significance in the context of post-Brexit Britain.
The private view will take place on 20 September, with curator Andrew Mummery leading a tour and discussion.
The exhibition is open to the public from Monday 22 September to Saturday 13 December.
